In the Netherlands, Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V, commonly known as KLM, is a national airline. Headquarters is based in Amstelveen close to its center at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and runs passenger and cargo flights to even more than 13 destinations worldwide. The carrier is the oldest airline in the world to operate under its actual title and is a participant of the Sky Alliance Partnership.
The KLM fleet includes aircraft of Airbus and Boeing with an average lifespan of 9 years. The present fleet is 115 and KLM is currently in the middle of a major fleet replacement programme. The carrier has transitioned out its MD-11 fleet and a large fleet refresh is ongoing. The new Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350-900 were ordered by Air France-KLM. The first aircraft were expected to come into operation with KLM in 2015.

Economy Class: 2 pieces with a combined weight of 23 kg each. Height not greater than 158 cm. Additional and excessive baggage is subject to an extra price. Every destinations and flights are subject to varying luggage criteria.
Carry-on luggage: One item of cabin-sized luggage and one personal item (pack, backpack, laptop bag, compact suitcase, etc.) is permitted for all travelers in all cabins. Together they do not exceed 18 kg in the Business Class and 12 kg in the Economy Class and thus have the following dimensions: 55 x 35 x 25 cm/21,7 x 13,8 x 9,9 inches (including bags, wheels and handles).
Through using KLM online check-in software on your screen or device, use the airport booth or contact the service desk to check in for your plane. Check in online 30 hours to 1 hour prior scheduled departure (or 24 hours to 1 hour before boarding if you are going to the U.S.). The text or e-mail that you get will have both the travel details and the barcode that you would need to scan at the airport.
